Phil Anselmo is best known to heavy rock fans as the lead singer of groove metal monsters Pantera.
Since the band’s breakup in 2003, he’s kept busy with projects like Superjoint Ritual, Down, and now a solo album — his first under his own name — Walk Through Exits Only, released a few weeks ago. It’s probably the most bludgeoning and extreme thing he’s been involved in yet, which is really saying something.
Hot on its heels, he’s hit the road for his Technicians of Distortion tour, with his band the Illegals. The tour, which also features Warbeast, and Author & Punisher, hits the House of Blues this week.
Leave the kids at home; Anselmo holds the world record for stuffing the most “f” words in a single sentence.
