On Tuesday February 24 (right there the scheduling is odd…Tuesday?) 78th Street Studios will be hosting the Twin Peaks Night Market, “where art, oddities and live entertainment collide!” they promise. The event was put together by two 78thStreet businesses, Birdtown Botanical Oddities and Extraordinaire Photos, who have solicited other artists, vendors and performs to turn the building’s RAMP level into a world of mystery and strangeness.
More than 50 resident and guest vendors will be set up, offering everything from art to jewelry to edibles, leaning toward the weird and eerie. The Happy Camper Beer Cart will be serving Twin Peakes-inspired cocktails, the Royal Coffee Cart will be servicing the non-drinkers, and there’ll be food provided by 619 Restaurant. There’s be streaming visuals to set the mood, selfie photo ops and performers Mars the Aerialist and Aminah Rose Belly Dancer, plus DJ Jade Ring setting the sonic mood. They’re also promising “Twin Peaks impersonators,” presumably actors dressed as characters from the show, to give you a sense of the surreal. There’ll even be a tarot card reader.
