Pianist Jackie Warren’s annual birthday bash at the BOP STOP promises to be a lively affair, with Jackie herself, Cleveland’s premiere Latin jazz keyboard player, on the keys, and her constant compatriot, timbales player Sammy DeLeon, alongside her onstage. This duo can get any party started whether it’s just the two of them, or they’re grounding a 17-piece ensemble as they did at last year’s Tri-C JazzFest. It’s hard to think of Latin jazz in northeast Ohio without thinking of them.
This evening it’ll be the Latin jazz quartet onstage: Warren, DeLeon, sax player Chris Burge and bassist Kip Reed, plus, we’re promised “several special guests.”
Grab your tickets here. The evening will also be livestreamed but live and in person is the best way to experience the energy.
