Learn the Ins and Outs of Growing Tomatoes at Summit Metro Park’s Seiberling Center

Wed 2/28 @ 7-8:30PM

One of the favorites crops in summer vegetable gardens, no matter what your garden size or your growing experience, is tomatoes, those juicy fruits that come in a dizzying array of colors, sizes, shapes and flavors. It’s never too soon to browse catalogs for the one’s you’d like to try this year, and if you plan to start seeds inside, the time is coming quickly — you want to do that by mid-March.

So if you’re already thinking ahead, you might want to join retired Cleveland Clinic horticulturist Mario Cammarata at Summit Metroparks F.A. Seiberling Nature Realm Visitors Center for a program called “Meet Me in the Garden: Terrific Tomatoes and Beyond.” He’ll be sharing tips for growing the healthiest, most mouth-watering tomatoes and maybe even helping you figure out — finally! — what to do about that one plant that always seems to have blossom end rot, even though the one next to it doesn’t.

The program is free; for more information, call  330-865-8065 or go here.
