Near West Theatre Alum Talks About His Path to Fulfilling His Dreams

Thu 11/19 @ 7:30-9PM

Near West Theatre is more than a theater: it’s a community that opens its arms to people of all races, ethnicities, ages, genders, sexual orientations, and level of theater experience and skills. In doing so it creates one of the most diverse casts and crews around while maintaining high production quality.

In its current virtual series, “Voices of the Community,” it spotlights NWT alumni and follows up with them on their lives. This week it’ll feature Clevelander Danny Caraballo, who appeared in NWT productions of West Side Story, Sweeney Todd and Cats, among others, before heading for New York and roles in touring and regional productions.

In his evening of music and storytelling, he’ll spotlight Cleveland-based Esperanza Inc., a nonprofit group that helps young Hispanics acquire the skills and education they need to fulfill their dreams, the way Caraballo is doing. The free, family-friendly program will stream on Near West Theatre’s YouTube and Facebook pages. Donations for Esperanza, as well as Caraballo, will be gratefully accepted.
