Liverpool, England-born, Asheville, North Carolina-based artist Kevin Hogan has a diverse artistic practice that includes painting, drawing and various types of printmaking. He’s exhibited widely in North Carolina where he’s also taught, founded a couple of art spaces and done installations in his more than 40 years living in the state.
So why is he coming here to Cleveland to speak at one of Art House Inc’s Community Culture Nights? Well, he moved to the U.S. when he was 11, graduated from Lakewood High School and launched his serious art career with a degree from Cleveland’s former Cooper School of Art. He also did graduate work at Kent State University, served as gallery directed from former artist organization NOVA and was involved in the founding of the artist-oriented SPACES before moving to North Carolina in 1979.
He’ll host a virtual discussion where he’ll talk about his work and maybe even his time here in Cleveland and share insights on how artists might work together to strengthen their community.
The event is free an open to all. Log in here.
