Cavotta’s Garden Center in Collinwood is known for the 100 or so varieties of heirloom tomatoes grown by owner Angela Cavotta and offered as plants to area gardeners each spring. Now that it’s peak tomato season she decided to host a Sunday afternoon tomato tasting featuring beverages and appetizers created with tomatoes as well as thick slices of the fruit of the vine to eat plain — no embellishment needed.
