Cleveland-based Evergreen podcast network recently announced that it has added the Roots of American Music (ROAR) podcast to its family.
Founded 21 years ago in Cleveland Heights by guitarist/artistic director Kevin Richards, the nonprofit ROAR hires professional musicians to do programs in schools and other settings that use music to teach about subjects such as history, civics and literature.
Richards hosts the podcast, which is produced by local musician/producer Clint Holley and features interviews with local musicians and episodes on regional history. The most recent one, part of its series “The Pandemic Tapes,” features Cleveland musician/teaching artist Jason Meyers talking about how the pandemic has changed his life and sharing some of his new music. Other episodes in this series feature ROAM teaching artist Juliana Tabor and noted local folksinger Charlie Mosbrook.
