Apollo’s Fire Musicians Play Baroque Street Tunes at Music Box Brunch

Sun 4/14 @ 12:30PM

Enjoy some baroque music in an informal setting when the Music Box Supper Club’s weekly music brunch takes a turn away from tribute bands and invites a quartet of musicians from Cleveland’s baroque chamber orchestra, Apollo’s Fire, to provide the sounds.

Described as “a baroque-folk jam session,” violinist/concertmaster Alan Choo, violinist Emi Tanabe, cellist René Schiffer and harpist Anna O’Connell will be playing music from the late 16th and early 17th century when composers such as John Dowland in England, Tarquinio Merula in Italy and Diego Ortiz in Spain used popular street and tavern ballads and dance tunes to fuel their music.

Doors are at 11:15, music starts 12:30. You can buy a ticket just for the music, or add the brunch — which is ample and tasty. But be sure to make a reservation here.
