Adults Can Have Some Drinks & Learn Some Science at CMNH’s Think & Drink With the Extinct

Thu 2/29 @ 6PM

The Cleveland Museum of Natural History’s monthly Think and Drink with the Extinct evenings give adults the opportunity to take in the museum’s exhibits and the expertise of its staff, free from the noise and distraction of children, while enjoying some adult beverages.

This month’s event is called Hops with Happy. The “happy” referred is CMNH’s sauropod dinosaur specimen Haplocanthosaurus delfsi, which was discovered by an archeological team from CMNH 70 years ago and is the only relatively complete skeleton in existence.

The “Hops” are provided by Fat Head’s Brewery and the Cleveland Brew Shop, with Cleveland Whiskey offering fermented spirits. Museum staff will be giving short talks about the collection and the scientific issues it raises, and there’ll be special shows in the Shafran Planetarium hosted by the museum’s astronomers. To top it off, you can dance to music by the Mr. Haney String Band. Food, as well as drinks, will be available for purchase.
