Sometimes an idea becomes contagious. It appears that time has come for “Touch-a-Truck” events, which are suddenly everywhere. These are events that allow kids (mostly) to climb on and sit inside heavy working vehicles of various types. And we’ve seen a proliferation of them this summer.
Cleveland Metroparks is squeezing in yet another before the cold sets in, this weekend at the Brookside Reservation. There’ll be all sorts of vehicles to explore, ranging from backhoes, bulldozers and excavators to every-day working vehicles such as dump trucks and police cars. There’ll also be a 40-ton sandbox for nature play and a craft station for hands-on projects. And those in attendance will also get a $5 discount coupon for same-day admission to the Cleveland Metroparks Zoo which is right nearby, so come early, touch some truck and go to the zoo! The Touch-a-Truck event is free.
