Sat 2/17 @ 3PM
Cleveland’s Les Delices baroque chamber ensemble is hosting a pair of special concerts, which feature harpsichordist and Oberlin Conservatory Associate Professor of Harpsichord Mark Edwards playing J.S. Bach’s 1741 Goldberg Variations, with the second taking place Sun 2/18 at Heights Theatre.
At the same location on Saturday, it’s presenting SalonEra Sessions: Inside the Goldbergs, a concert and conversation with Edwards and pianist Dror Biran that explores the history and challenges of this work. It includes images from a rare first-edition of the Goldberg Variations and live video of the keyboard. The informal program includes light refreshments. It will be recorded for a future episode of Les Delices’ online series SalonEra, which offers live and recorded music, mixed with commentary by performers and music experts.
This program is presented in collaboration with the Riemenschneider Bach Institute at Baldwin Wallace University and Piano Cleveland. Go here for more information.
