(postponed from February 3)

Twenty-three-year-old pianist/composer Arseniy Gusev is a rising star who was born in St. Petersburgh and got most of his early education there. In 2018, he came to the Cleveland Institute of Music where he’s continuing his studies. He’s already performed concerts in Russia, most of Europe and the U.S. and has his composers played by ensembles in Russia, Germany and the U.S.

He was scheduled to perform at Maltz Performing Arts Center in University Circle as part of their Silver Hall series in a concert hosted by Piano Cleveland on February 3 — but a blizzard cancelled that show. It’s been rescheduled for March 17.

Among the music he’ll plays is O. Gibbons’ “Lord Salisbury His Pavin,” J.J. Froberger’s Aria in D Minor, Cesar Franck’s Prélude, chorale et fugue, Alexander Scriabin’s Sonata No. 7, Olivier Messiaen’s Vingt regards sur l’enfant Jésus, XV and X and his own composition Rondo.
