Clevelanders are starved for live music and Cleveland musicians are hungry for a chance to play. That’s undoubtedly why Case Western Reserve University’s Maltz Performing Arts Center’s LIVE! (streamed) @ Silver Hall series has been such a success.
The free series, which debuted in early April, has featured 16 classical, jazz and pop performances, most of them by local musicians. Now it’s continuing the series through the end of the year.
The new set of performances opens with theatrical rock band Apostle Jones on Sun 10/11, with performances every Wednesday and Sunday evening at 8pm. The diverse lineup includes classical music from CityMusic Cleveland and pianist Daniel Shapiro, Americana/roots rock from Rachel Brown & the Beatnik Plaboys and Hey Mavis, bluesy rock by Madeline Finn, blues by Austin Walkin’ Cane and music more. There’s a full schedule here. It wraps up on Sunday December 20 with the lively Chardon Polka Band’s update on traditional Cleveland-style polka.
