Ohio Light Opera Goes Local and Online

Sat 7/10-Sun 7/25

After a difficult 2020, the Ohio Light Opera has refocused on their mission to present the very best in operetta and musical theatre- but for 2021, they’ll be doing it a little differently.

According to OLO Artistic Director Steven Daigle, “Per the decision by the College of Wooster Covid Task Force, acting to ensure the safety of the College community, OLO is not permitted to offer in-person performances in Freedlander Theatre.  Instead, we will partner with other non-profits in Wooster, e.g. Wayne Center for the Arts and Main Street Wooster, to present three of our programs — a musical, a musical revue, and a Gilbert and Sullivan work — at community venues.”

He adds, “The two remaining programs — the American  premiere of a rare operetta gem and a concert of music from early musical comedies and rare operettas — will be recorded and streamed from Freedlander Theatre, but without an audience.”

You can pick up tickets now by calling 330-263-2345 or via email at ohiolightopera@wooster.edu.
