Cleveland-based baroque chamber ensemble Les Delices has soldiered through the pandemic deftly, adding series such as its Monday night SalonEra virtual programs and innovating the presentation of its online concerts, with multi-generic and storytelling elements. But it was great to have them back live onstage when they presented the charming, fully staged production of The White Cat, originally slated for the 2019-20 season, this spring.
Now they’ve finally announced their first full season since 2018-19. It kicks off on September 24 with two performances of The Highland Lassie, taking place at Dunham Tavern, featuring soprano Elena Mullins singing traditional Scottish tunes taking place. In October, Winds of Change will address ideas of liberty and equality and draw on early abolitionist writings. For the holidays in December, they’ll offer Bach Cantatas for Advent with an all-star lineup of period instrumentalists and vocalists.
In 2023, music fans can look forward to Enchanted Island in February with soprano Sherezade Panthaki making her Les Delices debut in a program of French baroque cantatas; ad, closing the season in April, Isabella’s Renaissance “inspired by flowering humanism and flourishing arts under the patronage of the “First Lady of the Renaissance” Isabella D’Este (1474-1539).”
The ensemble will also continue to present its SalonEra series. For more information go to lesdelices.org/events/.
