Cleveland Heights’ Cain Park has extended its season a month beyond when it’s traditionally ended in mid-August and it’s about time: there’s still a lot of good weather to enjoy, along with some great music.
One of the remaining shows features a band from the region —Youngstown, to be specific — which you should try to catch if you haven’t already.
The Vindys’ aggressive blues-drenched rock & roll packs a strong punch. It’s fronted by singer/songwriter Jackie Popovec who appears to be channeling soul greats from Aretha to Tina with her fierce, take-no-prisoners vocals. Guitarists/harmony vocalists John Anthony and Rick Deak round out the core band, which is augmented by a touring rhythm section and a three-piece horn section.
They’ll perform in the Evans Amphitheater. Get tickets here.
