In the last couple of years, the city of Lakewood has been enlivening its outdoor environment with a flurry of public art projects, including a series of murals.
Now the city is re-launching its Spectacular Vernacular Grant to create permanent murals and temporary lighting installations to activate spaces around the city, and incentivize private investment in public art.
It’s now looking for applications from artists for grants of up to $5,000 for murals and up to $2,500 for lighting installations. (Total available grant funding is $50,000). Deadline for proposals is Friday April 9. Go here for detailed description of project requirements and an application.
