Hear Live Local Music on the Rock Hall Plaza

Thu 7/30 @ 5PM

Sat 8/1 @ 5PM

If you need to get out and hear some live music, do it now. Outdoor events are cautiously returning, but the way things are going, we’re likely to have a shut-down fall and winter.

That’s why it’s good that the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum re-started its free summer concerts on its outdoors plaza in early July. They’re happening everything Thursday and Saturday through August 22. They’re taking place on the Beer Garden stage, with a artists in a variety of musical styles from singer/songwriter to blues to classic country.

This week on Thursday you can hear Afi Scruggs, a freelance journalist who formerly wrote a Plain Dealer column. But she’s also a musician, whose current main instrument is bass, but who also plays keyboards and sings. She performs blues and rock, jazz and church music and hip-hop and plays both acoustic and electric music, offering uncommon versatility.

Then on Saturday singer/songwriter/guitarist Brent Kirby, a man with his finger in every pie, will take the stage. Kirby performs solo and with several bands, and he’s known as a promoter of other acts through the songwriter nights he promotes and the music events he books.
