Once again, the Akron-Summit Public Library is hosting its Books, Bites and Beats Festival , taking place at North Hill’s People’s Park, at 760 Elma Street.
Books are one of the main focuses, understandably, given the library’s mission — and you’ll find a batch of Northeast Ohio booksellers there with a large variety of things to read. They include JC’s Comics and Card,Elizabeth’s Bookshop & Writing Centre, Learned Owl Book Shop, Loganberry Books. Mac’s Backs-Books On Coventry, Mythical Bookworm, the University of Akron Press and Visible Voice Books
There’ll be local food and coffee available to fuel your browsing, as well as DJs Vince “Vinny G” Giles, Brainwreck and DJ Red-I spinning vinyl tracks. Other activities include the chance to screenprint your own tote bag with artists from Cleveland’s Zygote Press, kids’ activities and craft, gift basket raffles, and a Creativity and Storytelling Center to explore and create art, comic, cosplay and more/ community through art, comics, cosplay, play and more.
The event is free and open to all.
