CVNP Kicks Off Family-Friendly Rhythm on the River Concerts at Howe Meadow

Sun 6/9 @ 2-6PM

In the last few years, Cuyahoga Valley National Park has reconfigured its former Music in the Meadow series as Rhythm on the River, moving it from Wednesday evenings to Sunday afternoons, from twice a month, to once a month.

It still takes place at Howe Meadow, though, and it’s still free and family-friendly, with games and activities for kids, food trucks (you can bring your own picnic if you choose) and music that a wide variety of people will enjoy on a Sunday afternoon. It kicks off with one of northeast Ohio’s favorite summer-time artists, Carlos Jones and the P.L.U.S. Band, bringing their reggae-driven positivity to the stage. Before they go on though, attendees will be regaled with a rousing performance by possibly the best high school band in the region, the Shaw High School Marching Band. They look like they’re having so much fun your kid will probably be begging for a tuba or a large drum afterwards.

Gates open at 2pm; concert is from 4pm-6pm. Bring lawn chairs or a blanket and kick back to enjoy nature and fresh air. Future concerts are July 14 (R&B/jazz with Mike Phillips and Hubb’s Groove) and August 11 (smooth jazz ensemble Forecast and Erin Nicole’s Centric Soul).
