Sun 5/26 @ 6PM
As with most classical music groups, CityMusic Cleveland’s 2023-24 season, its 20th, is drawing to a close. It’s ending it with a single concert taking place at one of its alternative spaces, the beautiful light- and art-filled gallery at Praxis Fiber Workshop.
This concert will feature a quintet of string players: violinists Grace Kawamura Stubbart and Bruno Lunkes; violist Yaël Senamaud-Cohen; cellist MingYao Zhao; and double bassist Joel Negus. Their tour-of-Europe program includes 18th-century Italian composer Giovanni Battista Borghi’s Sonata for Viola d’Amore and Double Bass; 19th-century Austrian Franz Schubert’s String Trio in B flat Major; and 19th-century French composer George Onslow’s String Quintet No. 20 in D minor.
As always, CityMusic concerts are free and open to all. This one will include free wine to celebrate the season’s conclusion for those 21 and over. The concert, however, is family-friendly.
