Cleveland Classical Guitar Showcase Has a Brazilian Flavor

Sat 11/11 @ 7:30PM

The Cleveland Classical Guitar Society’s annual showcase concert returns to the Maltz Performing Arts Center with two acts taking different approaches to guitar-driven music.

The GrucaWhite Ensemble — flute player Linda White and classical guitarist Robert Gruca — incorporate classical music, jazz, funk, Latin and world music into performances that are both composed and improvised. And for this concert, they’ll be joined by Brazilian native/Cleveland resident, vocalist/guitarist/composer Luca Mundaca to bring her love for the music of her homeland.

Rounding out the evening is Akron jazz guitarist/composer Dan Wilson, who is also a Brazilian music enthusiast: while working on his master’s degree, she spent some time in Rio de Janeiro researching it. He’ll be joined by rising bass star, Detroit’s Brandon Rose.

The concert is free and will be livestreamed as well. Go here for more information.
