Lake Erie Ink, the Cleveland Heights-based writing workshop, aimed primary but not entirely at youth, has announced a series of writing classes and workshops that should keep young people engaged throughout the dreariest months of the year.
They include an LGBTQ+ writing workshop, a college essay writing class, and a kids’ comic convention, divided into weekly workshops for teens, monthly specialized workshops for all ages, and special events.
To start the year, they’ve partnered with Dobama Theatre, also in Cleveland Heights, to offer a playwriting workshop for all ages, led by experienced playwright and Cleveland Public Theatre Kulas Theatre Composer Fellow Obediya Jones-Darrell, who will help workshoppers shape an original play for submission to Dobama’s annual Marilyn Bianchi Kids’ Playwriting Festival. The playwriting workshop will take place on Zoom on Saturday January 23 and Saturday February 6 @ 10am-noon.
