Frankly, the Cleveland International Film Festival (March 22-April 1), now in its 47th year, has gotten a little overwhelming. During its years at Tower City, I knew people who would buy a festival pass and just spend a week wandering from theater to theater in the multi-screen facility. Since then, its web of partnerships with outside organizations and screenings at offsite locations (its central location is now Playhouse Square) have metastasized.
Where to go? What to see? Luckily, the Music Box Supper Club’s Cleveland Stories series is offering a CIFF preview night with its associate director Patrick Shepherd. He’ll talk about the festival’s history and share some of the highlights of this year’s festival and even screen some short films and trailers. Hopefully, you’ll even get the chance to ask him what to see that aligns with your particular interest,
Doors open at 5pm if you want to have dinner; program starts at 7pm. It’s free.
