If you’re not a resident, you probably don’t go through Geneva much in the wintertime. On the way to resort town Geneva-on-the-Lake, it gets most of its traffic in warm weather.
But this weekend you can join the locals for Geneva Winterfest in downtown Geneva, with a packed day of activities indoors and out
It all starts with an all-you-can-eat pancake breakfast from 9am-noon at United Methodist Church that, like everything else, is free.
Then start picking from a lineup of activities. You can stick around the church for a screening of the Disney movie Frozen. Then head to the Geneva Recreation Center where the kids can pose with live Disney princesses before they troop off to jump in the bounce house or do some cookie decorating, both also at the rec center.
The Winterfest parade with the crowning of Miss Winterfest, ice carving, a rummage sale, Jungle Terry, a LEGO build-off, carriage rides, a chili cook off with free samples, a snowmobile show, free hot chocolate … If you can’t find something that interests you, you’re not trying.
All events and attractions are free and family-friendly.
