The Hildebrandt Building, in Cleveland’s west side Clark/Fulton neighborhood, was once a meatpacking facility Cale the Hildebrandt Provisions Co.
Like many such buildings, solidly built but no longer performing their original function, it’s been repurposed as a hub for entrepreneurs and artists. Many local, artisanal food businesses produce sweets, smoked meats, honey, tea, coffee and fermented food and locate their good trucks there, while artists paint, design clothing, blow glass and produce ceramics.
Now the building is joining the ranks of neighborhoods and buildings hosting open studio/artwalk events with its first First Friday open studio. You can drop in on the resident artists/makers who will be holding sales and demos. You can even join Ohio City Glass for a workshop. (Sign up here.)
