Parma’s The Current Year Holds All-Day Record Store Day Party

Sat 7/17 @ 8AM-6PM

Record Store Day has kind of lost its shine, but for indie record stores, anything they can build on to promote themselves is a plus.

Parma record store the Current Year is getting creative with something called Record Store Day 2021: Side B, partnering with Rudy’s Strudel to host a blowout in its parking lot Saturday July 17 @ 8am-6pm that features a bunch of other northeast Ohio businesses as well.

They’ll have Fat Heads Brewery there with craft beer on tap, including a special brew just for this event. Porco Lounge & Tiki Bar mixologists will be providing their distinctive cocktails. And Barabicu Smokehouse will have meaty sandwiches.

There’ll be entertainment and events as well including a book signing by Annie Zaleski, author of a new book on Duran Duran’s Rio, sets by indie rockers Learning Curve, music by vinyl DJ Mike One and live tiki carving by Geoffrey Rees who’ll have items available for sale. Artist/designer Samantha Vickers will also be greeting visitors and selling her stuff, and so will Prama Gallery & Artspace, offering locally made art & craft pieces. There’ll be various other vendors on the site as well and some nearby businesses will be offering specials.

Yes, there will be exclusive Record Store Day titles available as well, including giveaways. Stop in to find out what they are.
