Were you there? On Sat 1/26/13, the Lakewood Project performed at a packed house at the Lakewood Civic Auditorium with DaFunk’d in a concert of funk, Motown and disco favorites from the 1960’s and 70’s.
The Lakewood Project is the first high school rock orchestra, made up of students from Lakewood High School in Lakewood, Ohio. Da Funk’d is a band of high school students from Coventry High School in Akron, Ohio.
The Lakewood Project’s electrified strings and rock rhythm section were complimented nicely by Da Funk’d’s outstanding horn section and singers, each of whom took a turn on lead vocals while the others sang backup, highlighted by some sweet choreography.
This exciting video was produced by Lakewood Project violist Nora Varcho. Watch the video here.
Be there for their upcoming concert on Sat 5/25/13.
