Since early this year, area artists have been coming together at informal, open-to-all meetings that have come to be known as “Quest for the Fest,” to brainstorm ideas for a new arts festival for Cleveland.
Fueled by the cancellations of the FRONT and CAN Triennials and the Cleveland State gallery’s People’s Art show, the meetings have attracted primarily veteran visual artists, although the ultimate goal is to include artists of all ages and experience levels from across creative disciplines. It’s still pretty amorphous although the idea of hosting an event (events?) at the art deco former Greyhound Station downtown keeps coming to the forefront.
But nothing is set in stone yet, and all are welcome to join in and bring their ideas when meeting #6 takes place this weekend at Larchmere Arts.
