World Turtle Day isn’t until Sunday May 23, but Summit Metro Parks wants to make sure you’re armed with all the information you need to celebrate properly. They’ve got two turtle-related programs this week, both virtual, so you can learn about these hard-shelled reptiles, which are found on both land and in water.
On Wednesday May 12, join them for Talkin’ Turtles, a presentation for all ages which will share what makes turtles unique and how we can protect them. The Zoom meeting ID is 846 9425 4661. For more information, call 330-865-8065.
Then on Tuesday May 18, join Summit Metro Parks staff and some of their “live turtle ambassadors” on Facebook Live to learn more about the types of turtles found in this region and more about ways to make sure they can thrive. There’ll be a chance to ask questions so bring ’em on.
