Ten years ago, Melissa Khoury and Penny Barend founded Saucisson to provide high-quality specialty meat products. And while Penny moved on a couple of years ago to return to hands-on cooking, Melissa still runs the artisan butcher shop in Slavic Village.
Among other things Saucisson offers tastings and sausage-making classes — and sausage drag shows. (Don’t tell any Republican state legislators; it might ruin their taste for meat.)
There’s one coming up on Sunday hosted by the glamorous Anhedonia Delight and the saucy Peach Fuzz, with special guest, one of Cleveland’s most creative drag artists, Dr. Lady J. But this isn’t a typical drag show: it’s also a cooking class. Presumably the drag queens will help Melissa add the ingredients — and some outrageous style — to the dishes being created.
