The Cleveland Shakespeare Festival doesn’t return to the stage until this summer, since all their performances are in public outdoor spaces. Their season kicks off on June 21 with A Midsummer Night’s Dream, followed starting July 10 with King Lear.
But they’ll be getting in the mood with open mic an Open Mic Shakespeare with a reading of A Midsummer Night’s Dream, taking place at Bottlehouse Brewery in Cleveland Heights. They’ll provide a synopsis and character descriptions; those who want to participate draw a character name from a hat and read as that character for part of the evening. Anyone can take part; you don’t need acting experience. When it’s not your turn, kick back and enjoy a craft brew. It’s free but donations are encouraged. Get more info here.
