Fri 7/23-Sat 8/14 @ 7pm
Cleveland Shakespeare Festival, which presents abridged, simply produced versions of Shakespeare’s classics in various public, outdoor spaces around the area for free, took last year off from live performances — as who didn’t?
This year it’s back, with a late-starting season and only one production instead of its usual two. That production is one of Shakespeare’s best-known plays, one that’s been a cultural touchstone and a paradigm referenced in countless other works and contexts: Romeo and Juliet.
Again, all performances are free. Just bring a blanket or chair and park yourself shortly before the 7pm showtime. It starts Friday 7/23 at Coventry Village’s P.E.A.C.E. Park, followed by a Saturday July 24 performance a Berea’s Coe Lake and a Sunday July 25 show at BAYarts.
