CMA’s Monthly MIX Party Looks to the Heavens

Fri 4/5 @ 6PM

Of COURSE this month’s Cleveland Museum of Art MIX party has an eclipse theme. Doesn’t everything this week. MIX: Stargazer celebrates the eclipse with Nigerian-born Cleveland DJ Ik Dubaku spinning what’s described as “a massive open-format dance set” featuring songs that refer to stars, the moon and the sun. And to further set the mood, the music will be accompanied by projections of images and art relating to space, put together by Nathan Melaragno.

The first 500 partygoers will get a free glow straw; later arrivals will get a glow bracelet. Just like being at a rave in the 90s! The galleries will be open as usual, and you’ll want to head upstairs to the Mark Schwartz and Bettina Katz Photography Galleries to see Barbara Bosworth: Sun Light Moon Shadow, an exhibit about light that includes everything from eclipses to fireflies. As usual, there’s food and drink available for purchase and as usual, it will be put together with the evening’s theme in mind.
