Cle Print Room Hosts Closing Event for “Creating During Change”

Sat 7/16 @ noon-3PM

Early this year the Cleveland Print Room put out a call for artists to participate in a project called Creating During Change. The focus was on the process of creation rather than on the finished project.

Creating During Change is a visual arts project centered around the idea of transition,” they say. “In this time of great change, personally and collectively we are experiencing a pause. There is power in this pause to reflect upon issues as we navigate this liminality. Artists hold the possibility of hope in their consciousness and work by offering another kind of world in this time.”

Nine artist were chosen to explore and present the process of creation rather than a final work: Jacqueline Bon & Michael Marefka, Austin (Walkin’ Cane) Charanghat, Jess Fijalkovich, Katie Hitchings, Brandon Peck, Elizabeth Prindle, David Verba and Emily Vigil.

The show is closing July 16 with a closing reception. Three of the artists in the show — Jess Fijalkovich, Katie Hitchings, and Emily Vigil — will talk about their work on display and how they created it. It’s free and open to all.
