RA Washington is something of a renaissance man: a journalist, creative writer, musician and entrepreneur. In addition to his own writing and many musical projects, he’s the founder and driving force behind Guide to Kulchur in Gordon Square, a bookstore/gathering place/performance space.
One of Guide to Kulchur’s projects is Cleveland Books 2 Prisoners, which is self-explanatory. To raise money to support it, he’s bringing together some of the players he’s collaborated with over the years for a special one-night-only event at the Bop Stop. Among the musicians who have promised to show up are Zion from Muamin, Ed Sotelo, Jake Wynne, Chris Kulcsar, Dan Wenninger, Chris Anderson, La Toya Kent, James Longs, Kyle Kidd, Lamont “Bim” Thomas and Delo FI. Expect others as well. Admission is a $10 donation.
