Sat 4/30 @ 1-6PM, 7:30PM
The Lake Erie Folk Fest is back for its sixth year, with a lineup of artists who perform traditional music from an array of global cultures.
The evening concert, at 7:30pm, is headlined by Dublin guitarist/vocalist/songwriter John Doyle, who has performed with or written for a who’s who of Irish-music performers. He was a member of Solas, the Teetotalers and Ushers Island, and has performed with American artists such as Joan Baez and Mary Chapin Carpenter. Also on the bill are African-American a cappella gospel quartet Voice of Revelations; Cleveland-based flamenco company Abrepaso Flamenco; and acoustic singer/songwriters Vivian Leva & Riley Calcagno, whose background is in Appalachian string band music.
During the day from 1-6pm, the event hosts workshops, dances, jam sessions and demonstrations in a variety of musical genres, free and open to all, both musicians and listeners. All events take place at the Shore Cultural Center in Euclid. Tickets for the evening concert at $15 in advance online, $20 day of show, free for kids 12 and under.
