Kent’s 18th International Film Shorts Festival Takes Place Online

Sat 3/6 @ 8PM

Although film lovers can’t gather in one location this year, the Kent-based 18th Annual Standing Rock International Shorts Festival goes on virtually.

Put together by Standing Rock Cultural Arts executive director Jeff Ingram and northeast Ohio artist Cindy Penter, the festival features short films from — as its name implies — all over the world, as well as right here in NE Ohio.  They include cartoon, music videos comedy, experimental films, documentaries and more.

The first part will feature 13 short films, culled from this year’s submissions. The second part will feature last year’s People’s Choice  Winner, “In a Nutshell,” by Fabio Friedli and other short from Switzerland’s Ykanimation Studio. Finally, there will be a films chosen by the festivl’s jury.

You can also vote for this year’s People’s Choice Award online. The festival is free, although donations will be gratefully accepted. To watch, go to standingrock.net . You’ll also find a list of the films being screened.
