Fri 12/2 @ 8PM

Characterized by its “warmth and lyricism, rich timbre, multi-layered constructions, and complex blend of tonality and atonality,” KSU New Music Ensemble will perform the music of Marilyn Shrude, directed by Frank Wiley. This concert of new music will feature Shrude with guest artists Susan Fletcher, John Sampen and Noa Even, assistant professor of saxophone at KSU.

“Her concentration on color and the natural resonance of spaces as well as her strong background in Pre-Vatican II liturgical music, give the music its linear, spiritual, and quasi-improvisational qualities,” according to KSU Music Ensemble’s press release.

 It’s free.
