Mon 4/10-Sun 4/16
Cleveland’s reputation as a food town just keeps growing as the number of available cuisines and creative chefs increases. It’s getting hard to recall how Cleveland was once decades behind the rest of the country, an outpost of burgers, steaks and kielbasa and the New York Spaghetti House (ugh) considered a special treat.
One of the other things that’s proliferated, in addition to diverse, topnotch eateries, is special food weeks. Cleveland Independents’ twice-yearly Independent Restaurant Weeks give amateur foodies the chance to try some of the locally owned places making a lot of noise. But we’re also seeing an explosion of weeks devoted to a particular type of food: pizza, burgers, pierogi etc. with special deals on a certain type of food, hoping to lure you in and check out some new places.
So this coming week is Cleveland Taco Week. Each of the more than three dozen establishments, covering a wide range of northeast Ohio locations, will be offering their own particular taco special for $10 or less all week. Of course, you’ll probably want to order more food. And drinks. And more tacos.
Download the Cleveland Taco Week app here and if you check in at four locations or more, you’ll be entered to win more than $250 in gift cards. Go here to find out who all is participating.
