Playwrights Local, a group formed to offer aspiring playwrights the opportunity to try out and develop their work, is presenting another in their series of free (Zoom) readings of a new play.
Brooke Turner directs Cleveland playwright Gabrielle DiDonato’s Leaving Home, which describes a dysfunctional family situation in which a distracted couple lose track of their child who goes missing, but they don’t notice immediately.
“Two detectives take up the missing case,” we’re told. “Jane & John are left to contemplate their role as parents (absent parents) & begin to lose trust in each other. Their relationship grows strange. The longer their child is missing, the more they break down. The more the detectives break down & the further & further away the missing child seems.”
