The Hooley Offers Fun for All Ages at Kamm’s Corners

Sat 6/8 @ noon-8PM

Kamm’s Corners and the surrounding West Park neighborhood is heavily Irish, with Irish bars, Irish dancing schools and more filling the area. So it’s an appropriate location for the annual Hooley, which they tells us is slang for party in Ireland.

The event is an all-ages street party, with food, music, vendors, a climbing wall, games and art activities for families, face painting for the kids and a beer garden for the adults. It’s an opportunity as well to check out the neighborhood to see what it has to offer and maybe enjoy some food and drink on the patio of a local establishment.

The Hooley kicks off on the Main Stage at noon, with greetings and the Cleveland Firefighter Pipes and Drums. Patrick Mulloy takes the stage at 1, followed by singer/songwriter Taylor Lamborn at 2:30, the West Side Isirsh Pipes and Drums at 3:45 and swamp rockers Cats on Holiday at 4:30pm. The family stage will feature a variety of entertainment including local performance poet Ray McNeice, All-American Karate, line dancing and several Irish dancing schools.

And here’s something you don’t get at most festivals: you have the opportunity to try the dunk tank to see if you can dunk councilman Charles Slife or Councilman Brian Kazy. There’s no admission. Get more info here.
