“There’s a special connection between Rush and Cleveland,” says Geddy Lee about how Cleveland radio broke the band in the United States. “When you hear yourself on the radio and you’re 19 years old and you’re in a new country, it’s a marvelous feeling.”
Rush bassist/vocalist Geddy Lee and guitarist Alex Lifeson are in Cleveland at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame for Rush Fan Day, Sat 01.19.19, which includes a book signing for “Geddy Lee’s Big Book of Bass,” a Hall of Fame Interview Series (Lifeson interviewing Lee), and a few special moments with CoolCleveland.
Geddy Lee has some wise words for aspiring musicians: “We’re slaves to rehearsal. We probably do more rehearsal than any band has ever done.”
Drummer Neil Peart has announced that he will no longer perform or record with Rush. CoolCleveland wondered about their plans for the future. “There’s no plans to reform (the band) at this point. The future is a wide open question mark. I’m really enjoying not knowing where I’m headed.”

Canada checkin’ in……’ya did us proud Mistah Mulready.
Seriously, best “bang-bang” interview of Geddy I’ve seen in awhile.
Lived in Cleveburg back in WMMS’ heyday…..I remember Billy Bass mixin’ RUSH, Bowie, Miles, Dylan and more into a fantastic midnight show.
If there were 6 cars waiting on a traffic light to change, chances are that 4 of them would be blastin’ Billy’s show.
Thanks much Thomas!
Keep a smile……on the dial.
