Cleveland’s MorrisonDance is known for its innovative approach to movement. Its upcoming program, dubbed “reemergence,” is no exception. It features a group of dances which delve into archetypes and “the world of the “persona,” derived from the Latin word for mask.

Described as blending humor and introspection the program offers several intimate duets from the company’s repertoire,  three of them featuring former Cleveland dancers, Molly Haslag and Matthew Robinson, now working in Nashville: “Anima/Animus,” “Phobophobia” and “Bringing the Darkness, Spreading the Stars.” The company will also perform four new dances inspired by Jungian personality theory.

The evening was directed and choreographed by Sarah Morrison; performers include David Lenahan, Mawusi Nenonene, Taylor Raines, and Ian Smith, along with Molly Haslag and Matthew Robinson.

The performances take place at the Reinberger Auditorium’s Talespinner Theatre space, where masks are required. Get tickets here.
