The three shows currently on view at Artists Archives of the Western Reserve by newly archived artists — Arabella Proffer’s Flaunt, Baila Litton’s Transference and Translation, and Jean Kondo Weigl’s Floating Worlds — are each very different but each has surrealist elements.
In that appropriate setting, AAWR will be hosting a surrealist game night, where attendees can play some of the games of chance that enthralled members of the original Surrealist movement back in the 1920s, as part of their process for accessing the subconscious. Bring drawing implements and other dry art materials and join the fun while taking in the stunning art by these three Northeast Ohio women. It’s free. Register here.
