VIDEO: Made Right Here In Ohio
Buy Local, Eat Local and Enjoy 90 Beautiful Acres of History

It’s not often that a single person inspires a major event. Renee Flynn, a resident of Bath, Ohio, did just that when she became the driving force behind the Made in Ohio Festival. In January of 2010, Renee approached Hale Farm and Village with a crafty idea. “Hale Farm and Village is the perfect place to hold a festival of products and handcrafts made only in Ohio,” she told them, and Hale Farm and Village agreed. Thus, the Made in Ohio Festival was born. The idea grew out of Renee’s own crafting experience. Check out this exclusive Cool Cleveland video where Anne Smajdek interviews Kelly Falcone, Vice President of Hale Farm and Village about the upcoming Made in Ohio Festival.

My wife, Alice, was one of the many star-struck fans who drove to Rockside Road and I-77 to audition for The Avengers movie. I asked Alice, “Did you get the part? Did you read anything?”

Not only did she not read, she did not even audition. The traffic was so horrendous around Rockside Road, she turned right around. Thousands of people showed up for the audition… Read more from Bert Stratton here

The Crooked River Blues Band
Hard-edge Americana… NEO style

Old Time music is the rage of late. Thank you, U.K. import Mumford & Sons.

Locally, the Crooked River Blues Band is also taking a stab at the genre, channeling its influences — bits of yesterday, hints of today — into a Northeast Ohio soundtrack. Hear them Thu 9/1 @ the Grog Shop… Read more from John Benson here

The acquittal of two Cleveland police officers, Adonna Perez and Lyndsey Bissell, by Muny Court Judge Marilyn Cassidy on charges they roughed up a handcuffed woman should be the end of this case… but then again, it just might not be.

High Aspirations? High Heels! have you thought about the fact that high heels while adding height decrease stability? being tall helps but being centered in ones body is at the heart of projecting authority. furthermore high heels like foot binding has been used to enticing men (with more wiggly hip and tush motions) rather than to better face them eye to eye…

Give me a break. High heels are a health hazard for women. Have you ever seen a young woman with heels that are uncomfortable, she walks hunched over like a 90 year old woman, where is the attraction and power in THAT?…

McDonald’s demolishing Detroit Theatre in Lakewood This is a travesty… and a joke on the part of spineless/bought Lakewood city officials to allow for taking a walkable setting… and regressing… by reverting back to an oil/auto dependent design…
