The theme of this month’s Family Day at the Akron Art Museum is “Island of Misfit Toys.” Those who sign up for one of the three hour-and-a-half sessions will arrive to find a pile of broken toys and parts and pieces awaiting visitors to fashion something new from them. There’ll be supplies and tools on hand to help you do so. All ages are welcome! In addition, the Akros Percussion Collective will be on hand for two 30-minute performances with their upcycled instruments at 1:30 and 3:30pm.
It’s all free, but they’re requesting that people bring a new unwrapped toy for the Summit County Toys for Tots collection. And pre-registration is required. Go here or call 330-376-9186.
