Artist Meryl Engler Hosts “Ink & Drink” Event at Kaiser Gallery

Fri 6/7 @ 6:30-8:30PM

Last fall, printmaker Meryl Engler was one of six artists participating in a group show called Entwined at Kaiser Gallery in Tremont dedicated to the connection between humans and nature and the impact of nature on our lives. Currently, she has a solo show at the same gallery called I Had Been Young Vol. 4. Expanding the boundaries of printmaking into other media, including papermaking and relief carvings, she continues to explore that connection, incorporating self-portraiture, bird motifs and designs drawn from quiltmaking, delving into her own personal biography.

She was also part of a Women Who Print show at Future Ink Graphics last year, and showed I Had Been Young, Vol. 3 at Akron’s East Avenue Market and Gallery in March. Her five-layer reduction woodcut titled Every Year They Grow From Nothing won best in show at the Ursuline College’s Wasmer Gallery show New Masters 3: Women Artists of Northeast Ohio last year.

She’ll be hosting a hands-on “Ink & Drink” printmaking event at the gallery, which is also a cocktail bar, on Fri June 7 @ 6:30pm. Get tickets here. The show is on view through Saturday June 22.
