Making its Cleveland debut, the duo of Puerto Rican guitarist Hermelindo Ruiz and Spanish guitarist Samuel Diz will perform a program that features music by Latino composers and by Ruiz himself. Ruiz first became known to local audiences through the Cleveland Classical Guitar Society’s Creative Fusion project which supports rising composers creating new repertoire for guitar.
Concluding the program is Ruiz’s Concerto to San Telmo, where the guitarists will be joined by the Opus 216 string quartet of violinists Ariel Karas and Victor Beyens, violist Brian Slawta, and cellist Trevor Kazarian, plus Dylan Moffitt on percussion.
